NEW Product For Programming and keeping track of critical requirements and relationships in your design. It also ties in nicely with Archicad. Archicad 10 Frequently Asked Tech Questions (FAQ’s) 1. The correct sequence for upgrading to Archicad 10 is as follows: Unplug the protection key Install Archicad 10 from the CD-ROM Reboot the computer Re-attach the key Go to https://upgrade.graphisoft.com to reprogram your key to run AC 10 (Use Internet Explorer or Safari) 2. Do not plug your protection key into the computer before Archicad is installed (no matter what the instructions say). The WIBU driver is updated with Archicad 10. 3. The reprogrammed Archicad 10 key will also run AC9, AC8, AC8.1, and AC7. We recommend starting Archicad first then open the file you would like to work on. 4. A few Windows clients have lost the Amyuni .PDF printer after installing V10 and along with it the ability to create PDF’s using Publisher. But, it is easy enough to get back. Go to: C:\Program Files\Graphisoft\Archicad 10\PDF converter\Install Double-click the Install.exe. This will re-install the .PDF converter and everything should work as before. 5. INTEL MACS USERS: Graphisoft will be one of the first major Mac developers to make available a Universal Binary version of Archicad 10 that will run native on both Intel Macs and PPC Macs. Officially, Graphisoft does not yet support Archicad 10 running on an Intel Mac, BUT, they are currently making a public beta available at: http://www.graphisoft.com/products/archicad/ac10/mactel.html After installing the MacTel beta, reboot the Mac, plug in the key, and go to the Graphisoft folder and locate the ArchiCAD 10 application, and double-click on it. The new WIBU driver (5.1.0) for MacTel are located at: (http://www.graphisoft.com/support/archicad/downloads/WIBU.html) does not currently allow you to run AC9. Loading the WIBU driver 5.0 allow AC9 to run, but not AC10. R&D in Budapest has been made aware of this as well as inability to run both AC9 and AC10 on MacTel simultaneously. 6. The very first thing you will want to do in AC10 is to go to Help > “Archicad 10 New Features Guide” and read the first section on "Migrating Archicad 9 projects to Archicad 10". On migrated projects, DO NOT unload the AC9 library and replace it with the AC10 library. Use 9 libraries with the 9 projects. Migration Tip for more advanced users: Create a PLA of the 9 file then open it in 10 and extract the PLA to a LIB and load the v10 library. 7. The Goodies are not included on the Archicad 10 install CD. Instead, you can download the Goodies from a web site. Go to the Help Menu and choose the link to Archicad 10 Goodies. If you download the Accessories, be sure to also download the Accessories Library at the bottom of the page. Come back to this page from time to time to see if additional Goodies have been added. 8. Window and door errors: Always set the wall type and the reveal depth before placing a window or a door. If you insert a door or window into a wall thinner than 8", you will get an error message (the default reveal, frame thickness, molding doesn't fit into a wall thinner than 8”). Pay attention to whether the Edge, Sill, or Reveal buttons are activated under “Preview and Positioning” section of the Window or Door Selection Settings dialog boxes as well as the Frame and Sash (for windows) settings under Parameters. ALSO If you are experiencing an error message with the macro "wa_trim_us_10", you will want to look into this fix posted on AC-Talk "wa_trim_us_10.gsm" is located in the "Object Library 10.lcf" at: \MACROS 10\D-W Macros 10\D-W Accessories 10\Window Accessories 10\Trim Macros 10 To replace the bad one with the good one, you need to extract the "Object Library 10.lcf" container to a folder directory. Just put it outside of the default ArchiCAD Library 10. Then replace the old macro with the fixed one. Now close ArchiCAD and remove the original "Object Library 10.lcf" from the ArchiCAD Library 10. 9. If you are experiencing crashes, please check and update your video card driver. 10. Download the 996 Build HotFix update you can find it from the Archicad HELP Menu/Check for Updates. This fixes some bugs from the initial release. Be sure to close Archicad before installing this HotFix.	Archicad 10 Reviewed The first major review of Archicad 10 by Lachmi Khemlani gives high marks for improvements in: Modeling Freedom Intergrating Layouting User Interface Interactive Training Guide Observation of her review: This an extremely high praise review when one contrasts it with other BIM product reviews by the same author. Features listed in other applications have typically been in Archicad for years.
